Exercise 15 Personal Reflection

Personal Reflection on Teamwork with other students.

I found it a joy to work in a team with as many of my classmates as I could. Every session we had working on an exercise was fun and no one had any issues with anyone. My awareness in working with teams has slightly increased. I always had that element of teamwork in me in that I would rather work in a team than alone but that doesn't mean that I can't work alone either. I learned that I can be a good thinker and give ideas out by the minute. Sometimes I overdo it and give out bad ideas but at least I can give ideas out, which I find to be the most important thing to have as a skill. I consider myself a good team player because no one had any issues with me when I was on their team. Every idea I gave they took with consideration and without regret and if it was a bad idea I would agree and would come up with something else to offer. These blogs helped me reflect on the idea of teamwork. It is all about working together but you also have moments where you work by yourself to effectively work in a team. So going solo in a team sometimes works, but not all the time. For example, the construction of the parachute for the egg drop challenge etc, they were all done by individuals rather than in a team, but the team element came in when we analyzed whether it was going to work or not and agreed to disagree on the parachute etc. Every exercise that I have done were all interesting and fun. Not once was I bored or led astray from the task because the people I worked with were all interesting and fun to be with. Working in a team is such a great skill to possess because without it nothing would be accomplished. We wouldn't have flight without the wright brothers working in a team, we wouldn't have all these devices and pieces of technology if corporations didn't hire people who can think as one and not think for themselves. The world was built for people to work together so that they may see another day and I find that teaching this is primary or secondary schools would greatly benefit the younger generations more in the hard road ahead.
