Exercise 7

Playing G.A.A.

When I was playing for Odwyers in Balbriggan, we were against another team. We won 2/4 of the game in the tournament we were in. They were barely won because our defenders were not doing their jobs, so I went over to them and told them to pay attention and do their job. As Team Captain I could've said it in another polite way but alas the heat of the moment got to me. We lost the other two games, and had i not told them what to do we could've won the tournament, because i told them my opinion it was on their conscious and therefore lead them to perform poorly.

Had I dealt with it in another way, I should've asked them to switch places or even brought on another defender who was competent enough to handle themselves within the match, or I could've take the position for myself for the next two matches, and more importantly not get caught up in the moment.
