Teamwork
- Ancient Roman military incorporates a testudo (Tortoise) formation to protect themselves from ranged attacks. Teamwork is essential here otherwise men would die.
- Front ranks: Holds shields out, Side ranks: Holds shield out to the side accordingly, Rest: Hold their shield up, hence creating a tortoise shape.
- This is a great example where teamwork means life or death, and that a team such as the Roman army can soon come to conquer the world with its prowess in teamwork ability in battle.
Why it works?
- Each man trusts the other completely with their life essentially, one mistake means death for the men. Trust, dependence and reliability are important as well as chemistry and coordination with the formation.
